The 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament selection committee must be feeling pretty good about themselves, as all four of their selections as No. 1 seeds will be playing in the Final Four on Sunday in Denver. It is only the second time in the history of the women's tournament that all four No. 1 seeds have advanced to the Final Four.
The first game, tipping off at 6:30 p.m. ET, will pit Big East foes against each other for the fourth time this season. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, coming off a demolition of Maryland, will take on the Connecticut Huskies, who defeated Kentucky in the Elite 8 to reach Denver.
The late game, scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m. ET, will see Brittney Griner and the undefeated Baylor Bears take on the Stanford Cardinal. Baylor defeated Tennessee in a physical affair to make it to Denver, while Stanford easily handled Duke in Elite 8 play. The Cardinal have now made five straight Final Four appearances.
