The fascinating journey in the ?Before Investing? starts with chapter named ?The Known and Unknown?. All traders (and trading software) are limited entities with partial knowledge about the market. I strongly doubt, if there is someone who knows everything about market. Even then every trader has to play the trading game with Market to gain or lose money. Thus it becomes important to understand trader?s behaviour & market behaviour. ?Art, Science and Hungry Man? is the second chapter. Here we will discuss the human behaviour, how they look at trading and how they react to the situation.
Next we will look into the behaviour of opposite team. We will discuss about chaotic markets and how we need to look at it in the chapters ?In Search of Market Chaos...? & ?Wings of Butterfly?. Generally market chaos is looked as negative, but in my understanding chaos itself helps us to take advantage of the situation. Chaos in itself is not good or bad; it is more of our actions that result in advantage or disadvantage. The joining point of traders and the Market is trader?s decision. It is trader?s decision to be on cash or contract.
Later, we will look at our decision making process based on the value we attach to each act of transaction. We will discuss an interesting emotional value concept in ?Balls on Chest? chapter and relationship between value and trend in ?In the Marriage of Value and Trend? chapters. What is the value? And how do we value things? Value becomes the core discussion point. Thus the human behaviour, market behaviour and our decisions cover the key basic concepts. We will see how all of that can be clubbed and made use in the last but one part of the discussion in ?So, Before Investing?.
Market tsunami and its effect is what we have seen, but every rainy season is a storm, hurricane and a tsunami for ants. How are they able to protect themselves? If they are able to protect, can?t we? Unless we act on what we know, there is no value for the knowledge. Knowing is different and Doing is different. These are the few points we will discuss and conclude our discussion with ?Start Investing?.
